Lugh is one of the great figures of the Irish Mythological Cycle and a leading member of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
He is celebrated for possessing mastery of many different skills. In the story of his arrival at Tara, Lugh offers his abilities as warrior, craftsman, poet, musician and more, ultimately gaining admission because no other individual possesses all of his talents.
Lugh becomes a central figure in the conflict with the Fomorians and plays a decisive role in the Second Battle of Mag Tuired, where he confronts Balor.
His combination of skill, intelligence and martial ability made him one of the most important figures in early Irish tradition.
